Snowmobiling

Location

• We are centrally located in Alger county and the closest city--Munising --is the snowmobile capital of the midwest. 


• We average 250 inches of snow every winter.


• There are hundreds and hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails available to you throughout the UP. 


• Our camp is in the middle of Hiawatha National Forest off one of the forest highways. 

• Snowmobiles may be ridden on the roads around our camp. 


• One of the great things about Kemosabe is that you can have a peaceful, quiet getaway in the forest and still have relatively quick access to the trail. 

Amenities

• Heated pole barn for sled repairs.
• We offer a grocery-stocking option for groups planning a cross-UP trip by sled.  Let us do the work--you just ride.
• You can park your sled and rig right outside your cabin.
• Each cabin has shelving and hooks for all your gear, and almost every cabin has a sleeper sofa for guests.

• We also have a seasoned guide available at a very reasonable rate for off-trail, deep snow or off the beaten path riding.

Trail access and fuel

• Trail access is approximately 1/4 mile down our snow-covered forest road.  There is a spur trail there that will put you on Trail 8 in two miles, and from there you can go wherever you like.


• There are 4 places within a 5 mile range to get fuel, oil, permits, etc.
