The Upper Peninsula is a virtual treasure trove for the fisherman; with hundreds of lakes, rivers, ponds and streams, the UP offers something for everyone.  Salmon, bass, muskie, pike, trout, steelhead, walleye, perch and panfish abound!   Kemosabe is in a unique position: all the species mentioned can be found within 15 miles of our camp!

Jeff and I are both avid fishermen.  Jeff goes after any fish, any season, any style,  whereas I generally prefer fly fishing.  Needless to say, we both feel like we live in paradise!

Bring your own boat and we can help you find multiple launch sites for many fine lakes in the area.  Kemosabe has plenty of parking for trailers!

The UP's network of streams and rivers are mind-boggling!  There are literally thousands of miles of waterways, all containing fish that get very little pressure.

We'd love to have fellow fishermen come up!  The UP is such a beautiful, bountiful area--still wild in so many ways.  There are a multitude of fishing opportunities, including:

  • Trolling on Lake Superior (12 miles from camp) for lake trout or salmon
  • Bass  and walleye fishing
  • Fly fishing--64 designated trout streams within 30 miles!
  • Casting for panfish in one of many lakes
  • Ice fishing in the bay or on the ponds
  • Call us now for a fishing update!
  • We can help you arrange guides for rivers, inland lakes, and Lake Superior.
  • We also can help arrange boat and canoe rentals!
