The UP offers awesome hunting opportunities for:

  • black bear

  • white-tailed deer

  • bobcat/lynx

  • coyote

  • waterfowl

  • ground birds like ruffed grouse

Our camp makes a great home base for hunters; located in the heart of the UP and surrounded by Hiawatha National Forest and tons of public use land.  Whether it's your first visit to the Upper Peninsula or your fiftieth, we'll do everything we can to ensure you have a trip to remember.

The opening day of gun season is a time of deep-rooted tradition in the UP.  Join us as Kemosabe becomes the traditional deer camp with:

  • chili dinners

  • poker nights

  • Big Buck Contest

At Kemosabe, you'll find great food, friendship, fellowship and good times---oh, and a UP deer hunt to remember…what else is there?

Fewer people come to the UP to deer hunt nowadays, due to the majority of the herds being in lower agricultural areas.  You have a better chance of harvesting a larger deer, or a buck with a larger rack, since more of the UP herd survive each year. That fact, combined with Bartlett's Syndrome (which means the animals grow larger to survive harsher winters), offers the chance to take home a real trophy.
